AUSTIN, TX—Today, the Texas House of Representatives, with a unanimous vote of 143, voted to pass House Bill 12 by State Representative Oscar Longoria (La Joya). This legislation codifies the Border Prosecution Unit (BPU), formalizing the organizational structure of the BPU and providing a statutory basis for its operations, duties and responsibilities.

AUSTIN, TX—This morning, the Texas House Appropriations Committee, of which State Representative Oscar Longoria (La Joya) is a member, approved funding to the Medicaid-to-Medicare Parity Payments in the base bill in the amount of $460 million in General Revenue. The appropriation was approved upon the recommendation of the Sub-Committee on Article II – Health and Human Services (HHSC) of which Representative Longoria also serves on.
